BEAR!!

WE SAW A FREAKING GRIZZLY. AND HE WASN'T FAR AWAY!

Needless to say, I am still excited about this. I've only seen bears from a distance in Yellowstone. This was my first time seeing a bear up close, so I really loved seeing this guy.

This Post has Gone to the Birds

Shot in Yellowstone National Park over Halloween weekend.

What I love about this first shot is that I didn't know what I was going to get. At the time I thought I was shooting a raven, it wasn't until I started editing that I realized I captured a raptor.

In my second shot, the raven was a great subject. He was waiting for us to feed him, so we were able to spend a lot of time getting good pictures.

Share Two

Taken on my iPhone after a storm passed over Billings, MT.
I love the brilliance in the colors.

This next photo was taken in Yellowstone over the summer. I just enjoy the way the sunlight hits the mud pot.

Fall in Rock Creek

I have found that trying to make pictures of leaves floating down a creek really isn't all that easy. I also really wanted those distinctive fall golds and yellows to be drawn out. So in editing I warmed the temperature of the leaves and rocks to accent their colors.
It was a good learning experience and I hope to expand it in the future.

Trip Back West

Over this past weekend my sister and I travelled to Butte, Montana to visit our grandparents and get some much needed R&R. We went for a drive to Pattengail, a campground that was basically our summer home growing up.
It brought up a lot of mixed emotions and bittersweet memories. The cold, foggy weather of the Rocky Mountains surrounding us was a beautiful reflection of our own moods.
